How to know my Easy Link version?
To know its version, go to Vehicle Info / System (tab below) / Software version. Then just look at the displayed version.
How update Easy Link software?
Updates are automatically pushed to FOTA, using the car’s internet connection without having to do anything. You just have to accept to install the update when the system proposes it. FOTA deployments can take time, so be patient!
It is also possible to do them in a Renault garage.
Is my Easy Link up to date?
Here are the versions in a table that I made. The numbering of branch or version (v1.2…) are from me to find it. For the same software version (v1.2…), there can be different references displayed in the vehicle (ex: 283C36293R) depending on the version of Easy link (small, large size…) and the vehicle.
⚠ Another detail, it is not because a new version is released on some cars that your car is immediately compatible, no need to panic if you do not receive anything immediately or call the Renault helpline. Be patient. This table allows you to see if your system is stuck in a very old version or if it is updated!

I have also two systems with these versions:
– 283C36862R from 02 Jan 2020 and which I tried upgrade also with few last versions of Branch 1 and also Branch 2 and refuse upgrade
– 283C31423R
283C31519R- october-november 2022 for some models (OTA stop for X reason)
283C36433R- january 2023, I know only one car with this firmware, it left the factory with it. already included the five driving modes
283C37830R february 2023, only in dealer, stop it for problems of sound and importants bugs.
283C36016R -april 2023, the more recent firmware, for now (25/04) only in dealer. Includes 5 MySense modes.

I am from Brazil, my Captur has the easy link multimedia center version 283C33608R. Is there an updated one? Here in Brazil the update is done at the concessionary. I’ve followed the process and saw that they do it through a pendrive.

Hello, I have the 283C39788R version in Clio V ’21 with 7″ Easy Link without navi. I didn’t have any multimedia system updates since a year. Is it possible to update manually? I tried using the renault toolbox but for some reason my car doesn’t write any system info on a pendrive and can’t proceed. It works in a model with navigation though

I sorry for the late reply. After I posted the message got some kind of an update (i think because i do not know if it acruallt went through as after an hour and half wating i truned off the enfine and went home.). The car states that is now wirh version 283C33608R with no date below it? I also have a notification message every time I start the car that an Update is ready to be activated? I think there is something wrong… So if you can help me better understand what is happening I would be extremely grateful.
So my questions are:

No, I know that the radio module goes behind the glove compartment, in an Italian forum it is seen that they connect directly to said module through an ODB and ddt4all cable, they have managed to bypass the firewall that it has and activate several things, such as rear daytime lights, android auto works wirelessly, etc… in my clio both the lights and the wireless android auto feature are activated, but it seems that this is not the case in all cars.
I have imagined that the software could be loaded through ODB, I don’t think it is possible through USB.

Im stuck on Branch 1 (last mentioned update), with a small display and was wondering if my Clio 5 (2019-09 build year) would be able to support branch 2 and also the newest 14th nov update with it. Renault Holland and Dealership cant accurately say and make it a mystery for me and say they need to research it.

above update worked for Clio V 2021 (branch 1 probably). unfortunately wireless carplay still didn’t work for me, but the wired carplay felt smoother.. hope it’s not a placebo/fresh install effect.
update: there are very weird problems with carplay. sometimes its smooth and perfect. other times it’s barely working with 10-20 second delays… I wouldn’t install this on older systems.. looking for a way to revert right now. if anyone has an older branch 1 version zip somewhere I’d be happy go get a link or something.
This has worked for me!
Unlink the car from the carplay settings of your iphone.
Reset the easylink (there’s a button to reset settings)
Keep your car turned off for 1 hour.
And don’t use low quality cables. Use an MFI certified one (stay away from chinese cheap ones). A good brand is Syncwire or Anker for example.
tried factory resetting multiple times.. never waited for an hour. bit doubtful but I’ll try. it looks like the carplay is smooth as long as the car is standing still, and then starts lagging when you start driving. probably older crappy cpu on mine and cant handle everything together.

I got my first ZOE two weeks ago and there are all informations about the consumption missing in the menu (info > vehicle shows only “air quality”).
As I read elsewhere, there should be at least a menu called “eco driving” and another point that shows a diagram of the energy consumption over time. All this statistical stuff is missing in my easy link.
also, in the drivers display, I see the bar chart icon, but with the steering wheel buttons (up and down) I can only switch between the eco “leaf” graphic and two empty screens, no bar chart or anything else.
However, the software version is 283C37784R, which seems pretty recent.
any ideas?

You can update the software from a pendrive, this will not remove the wireless connection to AA settings. Unfortunately, the free update is only available via OTA or if you have someone at the Renault service center who has access to the software database.It is possible to update for which you pay (not in the Renault service center ) or wait for the new software to be available on the Internet

can confirm 283C33813R works fine on 2021 branch clio V.
I just installed 283C33813R on my 2021 Talisman (previously had 283C37784R), can confirm it works. I experienced one issue only; as the update got to the end, the screen went off at 3 minutes left. I have heard before that it is normal for it to flash on and off with the update, however; I heard the screen turn back on and it was blank, I waited for like 40 minutes on the blank screen but it just didn’t turn back on. I was confused because if the screen bricked, it would have done somewhere around the middle. After 40 minutes I just turned the car off, locked it and left it for 10 minutes and came back and all was good. Apple carplay smoother, fits whole screen, new widget and etc… all was there 🙂
Wireless Carplay didnt work which I didnt really have high hopes for probably need to unlock the Wifi and the wireless AA and Carplay settings with DDT4ALL, I still don’t why people preach that it gets enabled after the update.

Also, Important to note (Before Updating):
– after downloading and extracting the above update please please delete the folder AllianceNDSMapConfig This is not for your car, its for someone else who made this copy.
– Before updating make sure you have latest Maps installed in your EasyLink from Renault Toolbox (Which should be either V2024.06 or V2025.01)
– Make sure you copy and extract the files into the root/base and use a USB 3 Pendrive which is reliable. It took me 25mins to install. It goes blank for 5-10mins after installing so its normal.
After updating:
– Renault Navigation and GPS worked for me.
– I can track my car and remote Air Conditioning etc works.
– Update was smooth just have patience.
– There is NO WIRELESS ANDROID AUTO OR APPLE CARPLAY
There is a possibility to brick the tablet.
I cant update maps because my alliance toolbox says my VIN is old, and from USB method it says my map subscription as expired, I cannot update the maps…. how do I fix it?
Same question as André… what to do if Maps is older than V2024.06 and subscription has ended? Does it really matter?
I just found out that local dealer from my city is not doing map updates anymore, but they are doing easylink updates… so I guess it is not dependent from one another.
As Marco mentioned above, it is important to delete the AllianceNDSMapConfig folder because the personal file for each radio is inside. If you don’t delete it, your navigation will be messed up. You don’t need to update the maps, but you do need to delete said folder. I’ve read in several forums what happens if you don’t delete it.
I have a Clio 1.0 GLP from July 2023 with a small screen without navigation and I updated it in mid-February and the EasyLink is much faster.
where the difference is most noticeable is on large screens.
When I updated it, when I got to the end of the update the screen went black, then it restarted and the message appeared on the screen, front radar failure, you leave the car closed for a while, like 15 minutes or 30 minutes and it goes away, it’s true that it’s scary, although I was warned because I had read it in a forum,,, but it’s scary
A few days ago, I updated my Renault Arkana TCe 160 using the software from the French forum. Everything works fine. Here’s how I did it, including the map update:
1. Format the USB stick to FAT32.
2. Plug the USB stick into the car, and the AllianceNDSMapConfig file will be loaded onto the empty stick. This step is important, as without it, the navigation won’t work properly.
3. Use the Alliance Connect Toolbox to download the latest map updates.
4. Plug the USB stick into the Arkana’s USB port.
5. Update the maps.
6. Delete all files from the USB stick on your PC.
7. Plug the USB stick back into the car to receive the latest AllianceNDSMapConfig (I think this might be an important step).
8. Copy all the files from the zip folder of the new software onto the USB stick, except for the AllianceNDSMapConfig folder (this is already on the USB and contains your car’s configuration).
9. Confirm the update by pressing “Ok”.
10. Wait for about 20 minutes; the screen will go black for around 5 minutes. Be sure to keep the engine running during this time.
11. The newer Renault logo will appear, and the system will boot up.
12. Let it run for about 5 minutes, and when “Update successful” appears, you’re good to go.
13. I didn’t have any music sound at first. Simply lock the car with the remote, then unlock it again. This will restart the system.
14. All done, and everything works perfectly! 🙂
Will it work with an existing AllianceNDSMapConfig which was downloaded from the car?
Ok, maps won’t be updated but everything else will with old maps I assume?

I’ve done it manually with the software from the forum and it was very smooth with existing maps. Couldn’t find maps but that’s ok, I use google maps anyway.
Did you do the update with your own AllianceNDSMapConfig folder on the stick, or did you leave this folder out completely? Is your navigation (with the old maps) still working after the update?
